Okay I had to join after reading some of these threads and having to facepalm at every other post.

Okay Heres The best way to get ready to drift.

1. Buy a RWD 5 spd car (the best starter car is normally the Nissan 240sx)
2. Invest in either a 2way LSD(Limited Slip Differitial) or Weld your open
3. Go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzlrQHJYedk and watch all the parts of drift bible.
4. Invest in some extra wheels and tires for drift spares
5. Find a local drift venue and go out and practice, also before hand you may want to go buy a full face DOT approved helmet.

The best way to learn is to go out and meet the local guys who've been doing it for a while but the really best way to learn is practice lots and lots of practice
