BP Ford Abu Dhabi Team driver Mikko Hirvonen and co-pilot Jarmo Lehtinen won their second consecutive WRC event on Sunday, claiming victory in the action-packed Rally Poland, round eight of the World Rally Championship. Citroen Total's Dani Sordo and Marc Marti came home in second, while Henning Solberg and Cato Menkerud of the Stobart VK M-Sport returned their Focus RS in third.

The BP Ford Abu Dhabi twosome of driver Mikko Hirvonen and co-driver Jarmo Lehtinen won the Acropolis Rally of Greece on Sunday, round seven of the 2009 World Rally Championship, after a great drive through some of the toughest conditions of the season for their Focus RS WRC. Citroen Junior Team pair Sebastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia came in second and Hirvonen/Lehtinen teammates Jari-Matti Latvala and Miikka Anttila finished third.

Records were smashed in the second round of the 2009 Redline: Time Attack! championship on Sunday, as Billy Johnson in the FX Motorsports Acura NSX demolished by some three seconds the Willow Springs track mark that was set just the previous weekend, registering a flying lap of 1:18.555. His time was good enough to win the Unlimited-RWD class, best the entire Unlimited run group, and earn the distinction of Round Two event champion.

Tony Schumacher raced to his third Top Fuel victory of the season on Sunday at the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals. Del Worsham and Mike Edwards also were winners on Bristol Dragway. Schumacher crossed the finish line in 3.857 seconds at 310.91 mph in his U.S. Army dragster to edge Doug Kalitta, whose Kalitta Motorsports dragster trailed at 3.879 at 303.43. It was Schumacher's third victory at the legendary Tennessee drag strip and the 59th of his career.
