The 30-acre Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg looked less like a county fair and more like a bustling automotive amusement park over February 20 and 21, the dates for the 32nd annual Motorama Indoor Races and Show. As in years past, the weekend was jam packed with diversions both four and two wheeled, plus a host of other features.

There was kart racing and arenacross, quarter midget competition and RC car battles. Motorama delivered its Elite Rod and Custom Show and the Ms. Motorama Pageant bikini contest, in addition to robot clashes and a Spina Bifida charity auction.

We were mostly there for the Tunerwar Import Car Show, however. The Saturday-only running of Tunerwar brought wall-to-wall spectators to the complex's Expo Hall, as hundreds of contemporary vehicles were displayed and took part in the F4 Challenge Car Show.

There were a handful of standout display cars at the event, like Andrew Becker's RSX. The DC5 made quite an impact cosmetically, rocking 18-inch diamond black Volk TE37 wheels, T1R big brake kit, Infiniti Q45 HID headlights, and a mixed bag of body kit elements from C-West, Aspec and Mugen. The driver is pampered with a Personal steering wheel and Status GT buckets, while the auditory assault comes courtesy of ICE installed by Wolf Mobile.

Derek Robinson's turbo K20A2-powered Civic appealed to the leadfoot in us, putting down a purported 452 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. Helping make that power are bits like a Garrett snail, Full Race top-mount turbo manifold, and Tial wastegate. Other attractive mods include the S2000 gauge cluster and steering wheel, Japan-spec OEM Civic Type-R front lip, and BMW E55 HID headlight retrofit.

We like what Steven Froster did with his WRX, especially the Lambo PPG Griggio Grey paint and the APR wide body kit, apparently the first ever produced. At each corner is an 18x9.5-inch Jline 10SL wheel shod in Toyo T1R 245/35/18 rubber, and the gutted interior has been painted flat black, highlighting the custom eight-point roll cage with rear wheel tub brace.

While not our typical tuner fare, Brent Khelawan's CLS was still pretty hot. It boasts a Lorinser body kit (front and rear bumpers, sides, and front fenders with carbon-fiber roof and trunk spoilers), 20-inch 360 Forged Straight 5ive carbon-fiber faced wheels with Nitto Invo tires, a Kleemann supercharger setup, and an ornate MTX audio system with full fiberglass and aluminum trunk install.

Motorama is the creation of one Armin Hostetter, a local farmer and motorcycle racer who got the bright idea to hold an indoor contest at the complex in the winter of 1978, which was then called the Harrisburg Indoor Motorcycle Championship. Over the last three decades the name changed and the focus grew to include other motoring passions under one roof, but the main focus has always been racing. Today the event boasts over 2,000 racers along with over 700 race and show vehicles on display.

The dates are set for the 33rd Annual Motorama Indoor Races and Show; we're marking our calendars now for February 19 and 20, 2011. Motorama Events will be back at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex, located at 2300 North Cameron Street, Harrisburg PA 17110.
