Our intrepid photog and Florida JDM monkey Warren "Fortune" Shim Quee sent us this heads up, a few teasers from the build of the Tjin Edition 2009 Pontiac G8 GT sedan. The Holden-manufactured, RWD Pontiac, which has generated a ton of buzz, is just the latest platform from GM to get Tjin-icized, joining the TE Solstice and TE Chevy Cobalt. The G8 has also been re-dubbed the CST in honor of Collin Samuel Tjin, Tjin Edition main man Neil Tjin's newborn son.
Hand-laid pin striping spans the body of the Pontiac, complementing the custom PPG Blue/Gray paint that covers the G8 CST. The rear trunk lid was stripped down to receive a custom fabricated wing that was also hand-made by the guys at Unique Fabrication, another one-off modification added to the G8 CST.
The stock headlight and fog light bulbs were swapped out in favor of 8000k and 3000k Ignited HID bulbs. Other exterior goodies that help set the Tjin Edition G8 CST apart include a custom twin-vent Webasto sunroof and Race Mesh hood, fender, and front bumper grilles.
Tjin relocated the shock towers on the G8 CST three inches higher, implementing a common hot rod and lowrider trick, and also added Eibach sport springs, bringing the ride height of the Pontiac just inches from the floor. The stance was desired to accent the fully polished 20 x 9.5-inch and 20 x 10.5-inch trademark One Lug Wheels and Dunlop tires tucked up into the fender wells. Furthermore, the stock brakes were jettisoned for a set of Corvette Z06 calipers and rotors.
Inside the Pontiac are diamond-stitched interior accents, Glowshift gauges, Ignited toggle switches, a custom ID-Tuning harness bar, Team Tech harnesses, Visteon Navigation head unit, and a full Focal audio system.
Lest ye think the Tjin G8 is all show, Fortune reports there were a handful of performance tweaks made to the six-liter V8 lump under the hood. Those consist of a prototype Vortech supercharger with custom piping and a front-mount intercooler, a set of American Racing headers, Magnaflow Mufflers, and custom three-inch dual exhaust tips.
The Tjin Edition Pontiac G8 CST will be debuting in the General Motors booth (No. 23743) at SEMA.
