The final stop at the Mega Web auto theme park is the Toyota City Showroom. Being that I don't drive a Toyota, I was a little hesitant to venture into this part of the Mega Web. After I walked around the Toyota City Showroom my automotive biasness melted away. Just imagine something the size of a two story Super Wal-Mart filled with latest goodies from this premier auto manufacture. If you consider yourself to be a car nut the Toyota City Showroom has something for you. It doesn't matter if you like trippin off the little kei cars, testing your racing skills or you just like checking out their high tech racing parts Toyota has you covered. Oh and another perk Toyota offers is...entry into the Toyota City Showroom is free ninety free.
Keep in mind Toyota lets people sit unsupervised in any of their JDM vehicle lineup, weather it's the latest $120,000.00 LS600 all the way to down to littlest Daihatsu kei car and not like any of the US Auto shows Toyota leaves the shift knobs and ashtrays in every vehicle.
If sitting stationary in a vehicle isn't your thing. You can test drive any model vehicle in the showroom on the Toyota City Showroom's private track. That's right all you need is a Japanese driver's license or an international driving permit to drive test drive something as cool as the $100,000.00 V12 Toyota Century. You might recognize this V12 as being one of the latest motor transplants from tuner god "Top Secrete".
For people who don't want to drive, Toyota offers a completely automated electric car ride. All you have to do is sit down, strap yourself in and relax. The car does everything for you. You can stop and get out at any of the 3 different complexes of the Mega Web.
Toyota is doing their part in saving the environment. What Toyota is doing is to help educating the future. Anyone could participate in this interactive Hybrid pedal car ride. You can pick and choose your accessories such as wheels, lights and mirrors to make your own pimped out hybrid pedal car. Once you have completed your personalized machine you can make a lap on Toyota's pedal car track. The track is equipped with hills and turns to help educate the rider about hybrid technology. In this case it hybrid people power mixed with electric power.
Toyota gives the general public a sneak peak into the future. There is a prototype section which houses 2 concept cars and very futuristic looking robot.
Toyota gives you an up-close look at some of their Formula 1 parts. Everything is positioned closed enough for you to get a really good look but, they are just far enough so you can't touch them.
For people who want to take a more hands on approach. Toyota offers driving simulators for Super GT and Formula 1. Once you complete the simulators you can test your reaction skills with Toyota's authentic vision / reaction game.
The Mega Theater takes Grand Tourismo and driving simulators to a whole new level. Just imagine the Star Tours ride at Disneyland but, instead of flying around space and listening to R2D2 and CP30 irritate each other. You get two laps around Fuji Speedway in a Super GT car. The coolest part is your listening to engines boosting, wastegates popping off and metallic brake pads squalling.
Where else in the world could you get a ride in a Super GT car, check out the latest in Formula 1 parts and pedal your ass around a track in your own customized cart with no entry fee to boot? Or is it really free. When I left the Toyota City Showroom I had this irresistible urge to sell my Mitsubishi and my German toy to buy a Toyota. Hmm...It's no wonder Toyotas become the number one vehicle manufacture in the world. |
