1. Chargespeed Integra DB8

Let's face it - the Honda scene has been saturated for a long time with the same cookie cutter type cars sporting knock off wheels and horrible paint jobs. It seems as though everyone is just trying to build the same car, over and over again. But when we come to SEMA, we expect to see vehicles that start new trends and have some of the freshest new gear. This year was no different from the years past. When we passed through the Versus Motorsport/Chargespeed booth we stopped dead in our tracks when we spotted this Chargespeed kitted Samurai Emerald Pearl Integra DB8. As we were checking out the right hand drive converted DB8, we learned that the owner, Jason Siu (who just happens to be an editor at Modified Mag) had built the car from the ground up. Siu had Adam Carpenter at Unique Fabrications construct the crazy roll cage that runs from the trunk, surrounding the racing fuel cell, all the way into the engine bay - cradling one of the cleanest K series engine swaps we have ever seen. For suspension, Siu explained how the Skunk2 coilovers were perfect for his application, helping to get his custom HRE wheels to sit just under the fenders. Jason Siu has definitely changed it up for the Honda crowd by thinking outside the box!

2. Tein Yaris
One of the most anticipated booths at SEMA bears the name TEIN. In years past the folks from TEIN have brought out some of the hottest cars of the show - last year's widebody Civic Si was a perfect example. This year, TEIN came with their guns loaded as usual. The 2006 SEMA display include project cars of all shapes and sizes, including a Toyota Sequoia support SUV sporting a full Bride interior and the traditional TEIN graphics. Stealing the show in the TEIN booth was the smallest member of the Toyota family. TEIN's Yaris is not just any econobox and got the full race treatment for SEMA. This Yaris bears now familiar TEIN livery on the outside, while inside a Bride bucket seat wearing TAKATA racing harnesses dominates the scene. Under the hood this Yaris was upgraded with a supercharged engine to really get the wheels moving. TEIN has done it once again by providing another positive and surprising SEMA presentation.

3. Tjin Edition Skyline GT-VR34
Neil Tjin is a maniac; no, really, the man is crazy. Just look at the cars that he builds for evidence; His Tjin Edition Nissan Skyline GTVR34 is a perfect example. It seems as though every time we see it, he manages to change something else, always keeping us on our toes to see what he will do next. Stretching its legs in the Turtle Wax booth, Tjin’s Skyline was a giant hazard, causing slack jawed onlookers to nearly run into obstacles as they tried to catch a glimpse of this Skyline. This gold-leafed Skyline was treated with an RB26DET engine swap that received a custom intake manifold and a massive turbocharger. The URAS widebody kit was installed to compensate for the HRE Wheels that still manage to protrude from the sides of the body. Stay tuned for more Tjin Edition cars throughout the week!

4. Team ETC Solstice
TEAM ETC was well represented at SEMA with this CRAZY Pontiac Solstice. One of the finest pieces incorporated into this build was the turbocharged crate engine that sits under the hood of this solstice. Next up are the massive DUB wheels that are quickly forgotten about once the eyes catch a glimpse of the brakes that hide behind them. The interior is fully wrapped in red suede material including the Sparco bucket seats that are also in place. The rear deck was molded together with the hardtop which opened to display a crazy audio set up hiding in the trunk area. Team ETC has successfully built one of the craziest Pontiacs we have ever seen!

5. Full track Hummer H2
We are assuming that traction isn’t a problem for this Hummer H2. The only thing we were wonder is - where do you get those tracks mounted and balanced, Tire Kingdom may not have the proper machinery to get that job done. On the plus side, road rage isn’t a problem in this H2.

6. Arcenal Solstice
Some of you may be familiar with car builder and shoe collector extraordinaire Marc Arcenal. His track-proven Driftunit Nissan S14 received nationwide media exposure. Arcenal was back at it again this year now in the form of a Pontiac Solstice. Arcenal’s Solstice was track prepped with a full roll cage that creeps out from the cockpit - which is also home to a set of Sparco Racing seats. AME Wheels were also incorporated to get the rubber to the asphalt while a set of Rotora Brakes bring Arcenal’s Solstice to a halt. KW Suspension supplied the Solstice with prime parking and even better suspension to keep the Solstice at such an aggressive height.

7. HKS Honda Fit
Jumping onto the Honda Fit bandwagon at this year's SEMA Show were our friends at HKS. HKS set up this Honda Fit with all the right fixings, starting with a Kenstyle lip kit that accentuated the lines of the front bumper, rear bumper, and sides. JDM issue headlights found their way home at the front of the Fit while a set of JDM tail lights did the same at the rear. Volk Racing TE37’s were employed to keep the rubber hard at work as an HKS Turbo kit forced air into the engine of the Fit. From the large Fit and Fit product presence at SEMA, its apparent the Honda Fit is quickly becoming one of the more popular new choices for tuners.

8. NOS Energy Drink Toyota Yaris
NOS energy drinks hypeman again worked hands-on to come up with another showstopping NOS build. Instead of a drift-spec Lexus SC, Manansala’s vision this time was in the form of a Toyota Yaris. Manansala’s past projects have included a matte blue Pontiac Solstice. NOS and Manansala put their full efforts forth into this Yaris starting with the full carbon doors, trunk, and hood. Inside the Yaris, a set of MOMO seats wearing matching harnesses were made to keep the driver and other occupants in place while listening to the custom audio set up found in the Yaris's hatch area. Manansala continues to come up with some crazy ideas for builds - we can’t wait to see what he comes up with next.

9. Volvo C30
After checking out Volvo's cadre of C30 SEMA projects, we will never look at the Swedish car maker the same ever again. Volvo showed off their new three door hatchback rocking the latest tuner volcabulary - gull wing doors, a supercharged engine and custom fitted wheels. Still, besides the show of new hardware, Volvo also included a nod to their rich past - an old school Volvo with engine swap underhood, BBS wheels at each corner, and a full roll cage.

10. D.A.D. Mercedes SL
Giving new meaning to "bling", we were really speechless when we first laid eyes on this Mercedes SL500. The entire exterior body was carefully covered by 300,000 handlaid swarovaski crystals by Japanese VIP auto accessories manufacturer D.A.D. The studding even went as far as the wheels and some interior pieces. The result was an endless stream of camera flashes all day long - not bad for the company's American debut. Most of D.A.D's accessories include the same crystal treatment, including shift knobs and accesory trays. Oh, in case you're wondering, the price tag of the crystal skin is a cool $417,000 - yea, we don't advise an automated car wash.
